Aisle #27 - Speakeasy

I intended to make this update weeks ago, back when I finished writing the new theme that the site is using, but attempting to wait for something derailed those plans. Even so, I still don’t have much art for this update - I started my summer classes already and I’ve been hard at work studying and all that. I’ve uploaded a sketch I drew with sketchbook Pro 2008 and a few sprites, but they aren’t very good looking.

Oh right, I did do one more thing recently; I drew this picture on that Nintendo hentai oekaki recently. I’m trying to keep the number of times I draw there down to once per month to avoid getting anyone angry.

WARIO LAND SHAKE?

The reason the text looks so precisely rendered is because I intended this piece to be pixel art. I eventually abandoned that plan because of how time consuming it would be.
My entries haven’t been very productive here; I talk too much and don’t draw enough. Most of what I do draw is pixel art I can’t show here, but at least that’s coming along nicely. I had to redo a large chunk of animations after they were lost to a drive crash a while back, but the result is much nicer looking than what I had before. Jim has seen most of those already, and I’m proud of where things are going.

Aisle #25 - Honey Blonde

I made it through my VB final project nearly flawlessly yesterday, with the only hitch being that I neglected to make and use an inherited class. That last part was optional, however, so it’s no big deal. I got the highest possible score without performing any optional tasks, so I’d call that a win in my book. I’m going to do a bit of tweaking on this program before I hand it off to Jim, but it should prove to be a nice little widget for keeping the enemy listing up to date relatively painlessly.

The new skin for the site is still coming along; I’m going to end up retrofitting the skin I wrote for a handwritten section of the site I used to challenge my web design course so I can use it here with Wordpress. I’ve been keeping poor Andrew waiting all this time with all this school stuff I’m doing all the time! School will be out for me next week, and I’ll have to go back on the 27th for my Summer I session.
I haven’t had much time to color more of those enemy drawings I did, but I do have a new one here:

Mr. Defenseless

Coloring these has been quite enjoyable. I recently decided it would be a good idea to whip out Camtasia studio and record myself drawing this stuff and make a habit of doing so. That way, if I draw something that is actually worth seeing my process, I’ll have the video available to show. Who knows, I may eventually become an artist that can really draw something special. The tutorials I wrote for my web design challenge will probably find their way here after some editing. They were all for beginners, so a lot of the information included may seem rudimentary at best.

I still have a few commissions to finish up before the end of the month. If you commissioned me, please be patient; school’s not out for me yet. The S5 commission deal went swimmingly, but there’s no way I’m going to wait long enough to gain enough money for a new Zune and I’m going back to my normal prices. The new program and firmware updates at least made my current Zune tolerable in its current state, but I crave squircle action like an addict. If you’re wondering, I still don’t do animation or adult commissions. Sorry!

Aisle #24 - BLK MKT, VB ONLY, FINAL EXAM

19 MILE ERECTION 2nd IMPACT

Things are coming down to the wire and I’m feeling mighty fine about that. My visual basic presentation is on Tuesday and my final for English is most likely going to be on that same Tuesday; with all the classes I challenged earlier, that’ll mean the semester is finally over for me. Unfortunately my summer break will be around a week or so in length due to the summer sessions I intend to take, but that’s not so bad. My final project for VB class is a little widget I made to update the Project Accordionman enemy list more easily. It’d be nice if I knew how to make it automatically update the list, rather than output a file I copy and paste into the current list, but I don’t so I just have to do it manually. Not only that, but updating the list is so simple that the creation of this program was for naught but a decent grade, know what I mean?

In between working on final projects, I colored a few of the linearts I drew of some Accordionman enemies. I posted a few of them on deviantArt and FurAffinity (for some reason, I have been unable to access SheezyArt for the past few days) and I’m going to go ahead and post them here as well.

I have the lineart finished for the first 83 enemies on the list, but I didn’t color them yet. Been concentrating on sprites and schoolwork, along with a big chunk of time for commission work. These were all drawn at 600dpi in Manga Studio (a program I have rediscovered my love for recently) and colored in Photoshop. I like to think they look somewhat more natural than my old vector versions of the artwork. I still haven’t been able to update the site’s skin either, which I’m sure is beginning to work Andrew’s nerves by now. I’ll get to it eventually; this final project stuff is tough work.

Aisle #16 - Fixer-upper

The last logo iteration was horrid, simply horrid. With Jim’s instructions in mind, I fixed up the mistakes I made on the Project Accordionman logo and I’m quite pleased with the result. I managed to show him sprites while I was still replacing files on my recently formatted hard drive, and only have a few more to recover and correct before I can move on to the next set.

The little icon next to the word Hard Wayne was an element of an earlier version of the logo that Jim requested I use in this one- I disliked this element when I first drew it because it didn’t match the logo it was drawn on well, but it looks pretty nice on this version.

I’ve decided to change my major from Game Design to Programming at DCCC; this will extend my stay until the second Summer semester, but it’s a worthwhile endeavor. The Game Design classes explained Game Maker and Unreal Engine, but what I really wanted to get practice for was C++ and maybe some SQL or Perl as well, so the extra few months aren’t a hindrance.

I’m separating most of my gallery by year now, so what used to be the junk section will now be for anything that I drew up until the end of 2007. Hopefully I can manage to be more careful with my work this time around. I drew a New Year’s picture, but didn’t finish it in time to post it before the New Year became old news. I’ll probably upload that picture when I get home, but it’s nothing really special.

Apparently I forgot to post this picture on this site. It’s fanart of Contact for the DS, a game that turned out to be mediocre in the long run. Pictured is one of the game’s strongest enemies, a brown cow that can kill you in one hit.
